Month of the Military Child: Dandelion Wishes

Created in honor of Month of the Military Child, this project invited young artists to explore the symbolism of the dandelion—a flower known for its resilience, adaptability, and ability to bloom wherever it lands. Using simple painting techniques and creative mark-making, students created glowing dandelion silhouettes against a purple background, the official color of Month of the Military Child. Throughout the lesson, we discussed the unique strengths of military-connected children, including courage, flexibility, and the ability to grow through change. Each painting became a celebration of the resilience and spirit that military children carry with them wherever they go.
